COMMUNION PARENTS: LOOKING FOR RELIGIOUS ARTICLES FOR YOUR CHILDREN? March 4, 2013

Our office just received notice that Party Hardy will be stocking armbands. If any parent wishes to purchase this item for their son, they will be availabe at the Nesconset location.

In addition, Living Faith in Rocky Point stopped by to leave a few flyers to introduce their store located at 593 D Rt 25A. Their phone number is 631-209-0102. They sell books, music and gifts. They said they also have armbands.

Please note: Armbands are not mandatory – they are white bows that some boys choose to wear on their arm. They would attach it to the arm that faces the aisle. At Communion practice, you will notice at which side of the aisle you will sit. However, you do not need to know this information at the time of purchase.

Lenten Confession – March 25, 2013 (3:00 – 9:00 pm) February 27, 2013

During this season, we reflect on our relationship with God and strive to live the way Jesus taught us. Lent is the perfect season to examine our conscience and make the effort to improve our lives. Sometimes, we decide to “give up” a favorite item, food, or hobby for the 40 days preceding Easter, or perhaps, we decide to do a good deed over and beyond our normal activity each day.

Whatever the way we decide to improve ourselves, Lent is the perfect season to start with a clean slate, and experience the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Our second grade students are currently preparing to receive the Sacrament for the first time. Please keep them in your prayers as the excitement and anxiety can be great for them. We look forward to witnessing their First Holy Communion celebration from April 21 – May 26!

Our level 3 and 4 students are encouraged to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation as well. A mailing was sent out to remind those who have not yet participated in this yearly obligation to do so.

We’d like to take this time to encourage and invite EVERYONE to celebrate this Sacrament. Our priests will be expanding the hours they offer for receiving the sacrament on Monday, March 25, from 3:00 – 9:00pm in the church.

May the remainder of this Lenten season be filled with holiness for you and your family, and your Easter be blessed.
