Parish Lenten Mission – Monday, March 2, 2015 – Thursday, March 5, 2015 February 26, 2015

Filed under: Uncategorized — stpatrickrfc @ 2:26 pm

Our parish is having a Lenten Mission the week of March 2nd (please see below for details).

We have canceled classes for Tuesday and Wednesday of that week in order to make it easier for the families to attend.

However, we WILL STILL HOLD CLASS for Monday, since an overwhelming number of classes have been canceled/missed due to the snow and ice.

We ask that you do your best to attend the Lenten Mission – daily mission mass will be said at 9:00 AM and the mission hour will begin at 7:30 PM.

Please read below for further information:

The people of a parish are different, unique and distinct, and yet called by Christ to be One. The Parish Mission will address both our individuality and our unity in Christ.

Mon, Mar 2
God’s Overwhelming Love for Us—Who is the pearl of great price spoken of by Jesus? You are.

Tue, Mar 3
Christ’s Plan for Our Happiness is that We Belong to One Another—The only way I can belong to Christ is to belong to you.

Wed, Mar 4
God’s Forgiveness—God calls us to healing and forgiveness in the Sacrament of Penance.

Thu, Mar 5
Christ Makes Us One in Eucharist—We are individuals and yet there is a deeper truth, Christ makes us one with each other by making us one with Himself in Eucharist, Word and Sacrament.

God calls each one of us personally throughout our lives. His Word is mediated to us not only through the Sacred Scriptures and the preaching of the ministers of the Word, but also through the persons and events that make up our real life experiences. During this special week of grace called “parish mission,” people of faith in our parish will be called by the Lord to listen more attentively to His Word and to respond to his call to gather for the parish mission.

The Montfort team approach to the popular parish mission is simple and direct. They do not come with a never-before-heard proclamation of the Gospel message. Their point of departure is belief in the reality of the presence of the Lord in the community of believers. The kingdom of God is among us! It is visibly and tangibly present here and now. The team hopes to clarify this vision to us, their brothers and sisters, with the help of the Holy Spirit, to challenge all to live more effectively their baptismal commitment.
